Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

Some of the best parts of my job are listed below:

1. June
2. July
3. August

These past two weeks- I've discovered another great part about being a teacher:

Snow Days

Although I have taught in Utah for the past 4 years, I never once had a snow day. At times, there would be quite a few inches on the ground, the roads were icy and horrible- but we still had school.
Well, Columbus is quite different. Over the past two weeks I have had 3 snow days. It's lovely. There is nothing like waking up and watching the news. Literally HUNDREDS of schools are closed. This past Friday I was very thankful because it can be quite dangerous on the icy roads here in Ohio.
This is what our car looked like in the late afternoon as I was picking Bart up from campus. It took me quite a while to get the snow/ice of the rest of the car. The doors were "iced" shut. If you look closely at the snow on the car- you can see a layer of ice on the top of the snow.

The whole car was covered in ice and snow like this. It was actually sort of fun chopping away at the ice.

I keep telling people that we just DIDN'T have snow days in Utah--we just went no matter how bad it got. Here, if it snows an inch the kids stay home or have "delayed starts" by 2,3 or 4 hours! They're kind of wimps in this district if you ask me. Hope you enjoyed your days off--any newly pregnant girl can use them, right?

Good old eastern winters. I remember having to chip inches of ice off our driveway on snowdays. The only bad part about snowdays is not getting out until the last week of June! Makes for a very short summer.

We've had a few snow days here too, but they're usually on Sundays and church is cancelled instead of work or school. Ahhh the joys of Midwestern winters!

I am giggling to myself about your 3 reasons why you love your job. I agree completely! I have one more to add to your list: Spring Break. We have 13 school days left until Spring Break. Yay! Just so you know we have been tagged by Laci...

Lucky you!! Unfortunately my job is one of the only ones that doesn't have snow days. I get to go in and take care of all the idiots that drive too fast in it! You'll probably get a snow day tomorrow by the looks of it - hope you have fun, either way drive safe!!

I can't imagine being that cold! It was 75 degrees here today. Of course this summer when I'm in 120 degree heat you're going to be in the comfortable 80 degree weather.

HELLO!!! I didn't know y'all had a blog! I found you on accident through Aaron Bjarnason's blog and I saw, "Bart and Krista". I thought...no way...not my cousins...they would tell me they had a blog! :) So how the hell are you guys out there? We got together last month with all the Paxton cousins and we missed y'all! By the way, how do you know the Bjarnason's?
