Blast from the past...

This last week, Bart & I have been helping my sister, Shawna with her wedding slideshow.  My parents have scanned and emailed me some pictures.  I love old-school pictures.

Here's me digging (or "rooting" as my mom calls it) through drawers at my grandparents' house.

Sugar Cookies

Fall **AND HALLOWEEN** are in full force around these parts.  Two Sundays ago, Whitney and I made sugar cookies.  I usually don't love sugar cookies, but I have the yummiest recipe from my friend, Erin.  She used to make them on Valentine's Day when we lived at the Pillar House.

Whitney loved frosting the kitty and then eating the entire thing.  She was on sprinkle duty.  No shirts required.

Camping

We had a ward camp out a couple of weeks ago.  It was a lot of fun and a lot of dirt.  Don't worry, I'm a germ-a-phobe, not a dirt-a-phobe... all is well!)  We decided to spend the night in the good old outdoors.  When we were driving there, Whitney was a total wreck and kept wanting to stop at different places.  The drive was only 45 minutes, and I thought she'd be just fine, but apparently that one guy- dressed up on the side of the road like and M&M was really enticing to a 2-year-old.  What can I say, that girl loves chocolate!!!

When we arrived, Bart set up camp and I chased little Whitney around the campground covered with acorns (hello, where are all the squirrels?) and an open fire pit.  We had a great turn-out from the ward- yummy food and lots of good company.   Whitney loved being with her little friends and staying up late.

When we got into the tent, to turn in for the night, she went buck.  Literally.  She was running around in only a diaper and was having the time of her life.  We laid her in-between us on a blow-up mattress and she thought she was in heaven.  (We've been having sleep issues at our house lately.  Whitney always wants to sleep with us in our bed.)

The night was probably the longest for me.  I only had to pee twice in the night and made the nearby woods my personal bathroom.  Hopefully none of our camping neighbors recorded the indecent exposure.  A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

The following morning, we had a delicious breakfast of eggs, pancakes and turkey sausage.  De-lish.  Before we left, we took a walk down to the lake to skip rocks and collect mud on our feet.

Whit fell asleep on the drive home.  I love it when she gets worn out.    Here's to camping!  Can't wait to do it again!
