Mommy's Helper

Whit is such a good little helper.  By helper I mean, wants to do everything I'm doing at the exact same moment.  This includes everything from eating & putting on make up to cooking dinner & doing the dishes.  Bart caught these candid photos of Whitney drying some dishes for me.

Letters from Tanya

When Whitney was born, my older sister, Tanya made her a beautiful gift of letters for her wall.  It taken me forever to post about it.  But,  I love these letters that she made for Whitney.  She did a great job and they look just perfect!  Here are some pictures of these cute letters.  Tanya can make just about anything. She is super crafty!  Thank you Tanya!  I love your beautiful gift!

Snow Days

Ever since I was little, I've loved snow days.  While we spent our holiday in Utah, we had ALL snow days (meaning the snow was always on the grass).  Ever since we've been back in Ohio, it's been snowing and cold and very wintery.  This was one brave Saturday afternoon when the three of us decided to head outside to play in the snow.

Getting ready with Dad

She's on the move- no time to look up at the camera.

At this point she was "s-duck"  (stuck?) and she couldn't figure out how to walk in the deeper snow.  She later figured it out.

When you have no front lawn, you have to head out to the parking lot.
It's dangerous, but what can I say?  This girl lives on the edge.  Check out that booty.

Gotta go.

Mom & baby.  She really didn't want to take this one.

So cute.

Bart loves to shovel the snow.  He is being extra helpful and shoveling our parking spot which he refers to as our "driveway".  Today he was still shoveling (yes, it's snowed even more) and he reminded me of the old man on Home Alone who carries around that garbage can with salt.

Stuck?

Ready to leave the backyard.

That's my girl.

And, yes, she loved the hot cocoa afterwards.

Shawna's School

Our last 24 hours in Utah was spent with my sister, Shawna & a day in the life of a 2nd grade teacher.  I am so disappointed that I didn't take more pictures.  These were the only ones I got by her classroom.  It's really too bad because Whitney was having a hay-day in that room.  I very clearly explained to all the children that they were not allowed to touch Whitney.  (Germs, hello????)  When they asked "Why?"  I said because I don't want her getting sick.  I even got to teach for a couple of hours.  I really think I could do it with Whitney as my assistant.  When the kids got noisy, she would look at them, put her pointer finger up to her lips and say, "SHHHHH!"  It was very teacherly.  The kids really cracked up when I was teaching math, and Whitney was walking through my legs like a tunnel.  Shawna wasn't very happy when Whitney was using her classroom computer and had orange juice and M&M gunk all over her fingers.  Nothing a little baby wipe can't fix, right?

After class, we went shopping, out to Cafe Rio and met up with Shawna's cute boyfriend, David.  That night Whitney was enthralled with a dog named Yodi and I believe Shawna had the worst night of sleep ever!  All three of us were in the same room.  The following day we took two airplanes home.  Neither of which Whitney fell asleep on.

Thanks for the great time, Sissy!

Meggie's house

After Bart left to head back to Ohio, Whitney & I took a little trip down south to Provo/Orem.  The first day we went to Meggie's house.  It was SO cute!  Meg is one of my roommates from BYU.  She has two darling kids and Whitney loved "Ewa" (Ella) and had a love/hate relationship with Benson.  At one point, Ella & Whitney were in the toy room locking out poor Benson.  Something about girls only?  By the end, they were the best of buddies, though.

Here are the two of them destroying Ella's room:

Here are all three playing in the FUN toy room. Whitney was in heaven!

Looking longingly into Benson's eyes:  (Please note the hand on his leg.  She's quite aggressive when it comes to men.)

Right before we all took off.  Thanks for the wonderful time, Meggie & Steve!

Other fun events in Utah

While we were in Utah, we had so much fun with Bart's family.  Here are a few random pictures of the rest of our trip with the Paxton family.

Christmas Day

Christmas day started out EARLY as Whitney is a morning person.  Here she is walking into the Christmas room downstairs at Grandma/Grandpa Paxton's house.  She couldn't wait to see what Santa brought her:

Christmas was great this year.  It was so fun to be with everyone on this special holiday.  The grandkids were buck, and the adults had a fun time together.  As always, Grandma & Grandpa Paxton spoiled us all.  Merry Christmas!  As Whitney would say, "Ho! Ho! HO!"
