My Belated Birthday!

Last month I turned the big 2-9.  This is a monumental birthday for me.  It's my last one in my twenties.  I gotta live it up, because who knows what the 30's can bring, right?

When I was a teacher, my birthday felt like Christmas.   It was awesome!  The kids would arrive with presents- some expensive, some edible, and some from their mom's dresser drawer.  The whole day I'd get little "love Birthday notes" all so very personalized.  "You're the best teacher EVER!"  (Hard to deny the truth, right? Ha Ha!)  I got used to my b-day being a day that I got lots of birthday wishes, hugs and Bart always made it so special.

Well, last year, after Whitney was born, (and I retired from teaching) I learned that having a baby can make your birthday feel like just a normal day.  Wake up at the crack of dawn, feed your baby, change her diaper, feed your baby, rock your baby, change your baby, feed your baby, bathe your baby, etc. etc.  It's okay- I like being a mom.  So this year, I had changed what a birthday would be like.

Since my birthday was on a Sunday, we decided to go out to eat earlier in the week.  I chose Red Robin.  It was a lot of fun- and there was some great free dessert at the end of the meal.

On my actual b-day, we woke up and had breakfast.  Went to church (Bart watched Whitney during the 3rd hour so I could listen!), came home and had a delicious dinner of teriyaki burgers and had a little birthday cake to finish off the evening.  Yes, turning 2-9 is pretty nice.

Okay, small world. I saw your comment on a friend's blog (Em). I'm Jana Sinsay's little sister. Anyways...did you know you get a free burger on your birthday from Red Robing too?

Make your birthday a weekend of freebies: http://www.heyitsfree.net/2006/10/03/birthday-freebies/

It was so close, Sammy could have shared a birthday with you.
I will have to remember that you can get a free burger on your birthday at Red Robin. We are going to have to watch where our penny's go now.

Glad you're enjoying life. Do you trust me? I loved my thirties much more than my twenties, buuuuut I also had my 4th child at age 30. I finally felt real again. Guess what...do you trust me...I LOVE my 40's.

Happy belated birthday! Sounds like a lot of fun. Too bad Bart didn't find you some surprises from your own drawer and wrap them up with some notes and stick them on your desk.
