It's a BOY!

Back in October (10-01-12), we found out the gender of our baby #3.  I went to the doctor & ultra sound appointment without Bart.  He had to work.  The Ultra Sound Tech was super nice and friendly. She said that everything looked really good with this baby and then took lots of pictures for us.  I told her I didn't want to know the gender  until later, so write it down in an envelope and tell us what percent of certainty she was of the gender.

After Bart got home from work, we pulled out the envelope and the cameras.  This is us, just moments before we open it.

I had Whitney read what it said, either B.O.Y. or G.I.R.L.  She read, BOY!  I had a feeling it was because this little guys has been a MOVER!  Right after Whit read it, I said, "It's a boy!"  Whitney looked at me and said, "But I don't want it to be a boy!"

She really was wanting a little sister.  Maybe next time, maybe next time.

Later that night there were some big alligator tears from Whitney.  It's okay.  We get what is meant to be in our little family.  And I think MacKay and this baby boy will have tons of fun together.  Whitney is my little princess.  I already love the boy in my belly- and am grateful for how well this pregnancy has gone.

I am now 34.5 weeks as I type this post.  I am not in denial about the challenges of the first few months after the baby is born.  It makes me VERY nervous.  I am starting to get into that phase of my pregnancy, where I go to the bathroom about 2 times each night and after sitting on a hard chair, lose my balance when trying to walk.  I am also in the great stage where I can see and feel my baby move.  He moves a lot like MacKay did.  I can't wait to see what he looks like. I keep praying each night that he will be a healthy, happy boy to bring peace and joy into our home.  MacKay was such a good baby, so it's hard to imagine getting another one like him.  I keep my fingers crossed!!!

Whitney and MacKay play so well together now.  I can send them downstairs while I prepare dinner.  It's so nice for them to have each other.  We just changed them to the same room about a week and a half ago.  They both turn on their DREAM LITES and fall to sleep.  Some nights are better than others.  I love having kids who are kind and sweet to each other.  It gives me a very small glimpse into how our Heavenly Father feels about His children getting along.

I also miss the warm weather.  Whitney asked me the other day if I wished it was summer.  I told her yes, and that if we move to Arizona it is summer all year long.  I asked her if she wanted to move there.  She said, "No!  I don't want to move because I would miss my friend, Ruthie!"

Moving is hard.  We'll try to keep it to a minimum.

Here are the kids in October on a Saturday.  They are going to help Bart wash the car:

And bedtime routine:  Sometimes goes better than other days.  I'm trying hard to enjoy the bedtime routine.  Usually I'm beat and the kids are cranky.  When we have good snuggle sessions and they go to bed so well... I try to hold onto those nights.  Here is one.
Bart reading to the kids:

Wait... but then there was this little fit...
She loves to read in her bed.  Goes through phases of books she likes.  This one was a Bearenstein Bear phase.  She's learning to read lots of words.  Mommy school is paying off.  We have fun laying on my bed and learning from "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons."  And do you know what?  She is learning how.  It's pretty amazing.

And here's proof that I'm tired.  But happy.  Look at my little boyfriend.  Does he even know what's going to happen in about a month?  I need to give him all sorts of snuggles now- so when I'm so cranky and tired after having a baby- he'll still know I love him!

You're entering the home stretch!! So fun to have 2 little boys so close in age :) I'm glad to hear that having them share a room is working too (our boys are trying and our night times are pretty miserable right now!!). Best of luck your last couple of weeks of pregnancy!

Congrats!!! Enjoy your time as a family of four. 5 is when it REALLY gets crazy! :) Why did you wait so many months to find out? What was the significance of the date you decided to open the envelope? Did you cheat? Did you peek?
