It's been four years since we moved to Ohio. EVERYONE here talks about the Ohio State Fair like it's pretty much Disneyland. Let me be the first to set you straight: It AIN'T! Yes, it was my idea to go- but would I do it again? Probably not. I'm not one for "carni-food", "carni-folks," or "carni-rides." Apparently that's what 90% of what this fair was about.
I did like seeing the animals. (Even though, just as I was taking the above picture I stepped in a HUGE pile of pig poop. Yes, my shoes are STILL sitting on the front porch. I don't even want to touch them.)
It was an experience... Bart laughed at me when I took him over to see the soldiers who re-inact the Civil War times. I thought it would be interesting, okay?! It was fun to be there with our good friends, the Schellenbergs. And I got some cute pics:
Here we are in some muggy temps looking at the big horses:
My "butterball" with the butter-cow. (Bart's in there too.)
Ice cream treat: Yes, we paid $3 for this ice cream. I still can't believe it.

It was too hot for his outfit. I stripped him down to his onesie. Look at those chubby hands. Love him.
