Wicked

Yes.  I finally did it.  I saw the show.  Yes, it was all that I dreamed of and more.  (Minus the fact that my leg was numb and I thought for about a split second that I was having a blood clot in my leg.  But that's a whole different post.)

I remember when I was teaching school at Manila Elementary (Go Mustangs!) and one of my student's moms (Melanie Brower) came in to my classroom, dressed up in a big poofy prom dress with a wand and a bucket and sang "POPULAR!"  It was the first time I ever heard the song or of the musical... WICKED.

My good friend, Natalie, and about 50 fifth graders talked about, listened to, and sang the lyrics to the music.  I was quite familiar with it's glory.

So when Wicked came to Columbus, I just had to see the show.

This is me before the show:

(Almost) 17 Weeks pregnant and showing much more than I did at this stage with Whitney.
But I am embracing it, baby!!!

You wanted a side shot?  Done.

Moving on.

Heather came over (well she lives a few doors down) and we took a few more pics:

How sweet.  How maternal.  (We're both pregnant.)

Then we drove to Marcella's.  It was a bit stressful getting down there to meet Rachel.  But after about 5 billion phone calls and a handful of quarters for some trusty parking meters, we got into the restaurant and had a yummy dinner.  I only asked the poor waitress a FEW questions about if my meatball was done.  Hello? Food poisoning??!!

No worries.  It was done- I'm not sick.

Then we drove to the Ohio Theatre.  What a great night.  Not too humid and a beautiful sunny evening.

All three of us:

In front of the theatre:
(Actually, we all took solo shots in front of the theatre.  I wasn't allowed to post any of Rachel's or Heather's solo pictures.  You can't really call it a "solo" shot with those two police officers on the side, anyway.)

We had a great time.  I am so happy I was able to go and have the Wicked experience.  My most memorable moment of the show was when Elphaba was flying singing "Defying Gravity."  I also loved the song, "For Good" at the end of the show.  Can't wait to go see it with my sweetheart next time.  You'll love it, Barty.

Yahoo!!!! You made it! I am so glad you saw it. After three tires and finally getting Brian there, it lived up to EVERYTHING I ever told him. Now we are truly bonded for life. And my name on your blog? Just an extra special bonus. :)

Cute baby bump for sure! You are a cute prego mama!

And the meatball has me LAUGHING OUT LOUD. You are so funny, Krista. I can hear the entire conversation in my head. I am so the same way with meat. And especially important for baby Paxton! :)

You look so cute prego, did I ever congratulate you? I am so rude if not, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Great pics, Molly and I didn't take one when we went, can you believe it?

Looks like a great night! Wish I could have joined you and your buddies. I love the pics of Whitney banging on her kitchen with Bart's tools. I definitely should have snapped pics of Lucy keeping herself busy this week while we unpacked... she was entertained by a curtain rod and a whistle for at least an hour!

I totally cried at Wicked, not necessarily from the story. I already knew all the songs and the plot. I was just loving it so much, that I found myself in tears. I will admit it may have been hormones, but it was SO good.
